Souces say The New York Times will request bids for the Boston Globe and has hired an investment bank to handle a possible sale, now that the Globe’s unions have all voted on cost-cutting contract offers. College of Communication Dean Tom Fiedler, a former Miami Herald executive editor, says the cuts made by the Times has made New England’s largest newspaper more attractive to a potential buyer.
